acute lymphocytic leukemia | I wish to be a veterinarian
Seeing Nominee in her white veterinarian’s coat and listening to a dog’s heartbeat made her family forget all about the worries of the past year. Instead of enduring another stressful visit to the doctor to treat her leukemia, Nominee became a doctor herself and helped look after sick animals at the Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group of Orange County.
Nominee wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up, and if her experience with Make-A-Wish® was any indication, she’s already a natural. The animal lover and her pink stethoscope were inseparable that day as Nominee was able to make a difference doing what she knows best – helping others.
Her mother beamed with pride as she described what granting Nominee’s wish meant to her family. “We were so overwhelmed with finding out she had leukemia,” her mom said. “She’s been through a lot this past year. She deserves this.”
